World Car Free Day
September 20, 2008 - Smart Commute promoted World Car Free Day at the Family Event at Weston Produce Plaza in Newmarket. World Car Free Day, held annually on September 22nd is a growing global movement celebrated by over 100 million people in more than 1500 cities around the world. This was a great opportunity for single occupant vehicle commuters to try a sustainable transportation option, while at the same time reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Try going car free for a day...it's an effective way to rediscover your local community.
