Smart Commute attends Newmarket's Kanata Day in Fairy Lake Park
July 1, 2008 - It was a gorgeous day to hold the annual Kanata Day celebration with clear skies and warm weather. The good weather drew thousands of people to come out, celebrate Canada's birthday, and visit the Smart Commute Expo. Smart Commute staff handed out free give-aways and encouraged passersby to try the carbon calculator and enter a draw for a free bicycle. By simply entering the vehicle's size, the distance to work, and the amount of time spent commuting, commuters found out how many kgs of CO2 their commute generates. We challenged everyone to think about how they can become Smart Commuters.
