3rd Annual Bike to Work Day
May 25, 2009 - Over 240 Newmarket residents cycled to the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce and to satellite events at Smart Commute member businesses for the 3rd annual Bike To Work Day! At the Chamber, cyclists were treated to a free breakfast, massages, giveaways and several draw prizes, including the grand prize of a Norco bike.
“As the co-chair for Bike to Work Day I’m excited to be part of the community in this growing celebration” said Regional Councillor John Taylor. “It’s up to all of us to take action on reducing traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. Active commuting is a fun, healthy way to achieve these goals.”
