150 attend 2nd Annual Bike to Work Day
June 6, 2008 - Over 150 people hopped on their bikes and rode down to the old train station in Newmarket to show their support for the 2nd Annual Bike To Work Day.
The first 100 riders received Bike To Work Day T-shirts and reflective legbands. Piping hot coffee was provided compliments of "Starbucks", orange juice and bottled water from "Cora's Breakfast and Lunch" and bagels and fruit from "Smart Commute."
Riders from as far away as Mt. Albert joined the festivities and participated in great draws for prizes from BikeSports, Spoke O'Motion and Norco Performance Bikes Canada.
A special mention goes to the staff and students from Huron Heights S.S. who mustered over 50 participants to come out to the event. After the event York Regional Police escorted them safely back to school.
